George Innes Perry West

He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in 1810. In 1812 he transferred to the Royal Engineers and fought at Waterloo. In 1835, while on a tour of command in Jamaica, he died in the wreck of HMS Firefly in the Gulf of Honduras. His 14 year old son, Augustus, also died in the shipwreck.
